Sequoia National Park
August 22-24, 2003

I've had a tough year.

Spinning my wheels trying to find my place in Los Angeles, heart broken twice in almost as many months, I desperately needed to get away. To be reminded of what really matters. Well, when you're fearing for your life, priorities change real quick! Of course, soon as I got home, I fell right back into an even blacker darkness for a while. But I'm better now, thanks.

The videos here are in Quicktime format. They're HUGE, so, unless you have a fast connection, go ahead and right-click on them and choose 'save target as' (Mac: Click and hold, 'download link to disk') and go crack a beer or a pint of ice cream or something. The movies open in their own window, so you can keep browsing the site. You can click any of the images here to open a bigger, more beautious view, in another window.

Got to site #18 in Buckeye Flat early afternoon. VIDEO (from the morning of the True Widowmaker Trail)

I'm sure Jodie's a wonderful person, and I know what it's like to be in love, but come on.
Up the road to the Giant Forest, looking down on that bend in the Kaweah.
Little guy! Earlier, I was looking for wood and saw a BIG ol' head looking at me about 30 feet away. He saw me and turned and took off into the woods.
When I saw this Sequoia, I thought "God! That's gotta be General Sherman," but it wasn't. That happened a couple times, each one bigger than the last. General Sherman is Bigger. Much, much bigger. So big... -->
